Less then one months until JAPAN~
Sorry about the lull but things have been really crazy over here on my end. I'm slowly dying at work, since my job is understaffed, and I'm doing a lot of school work to make sure I don't fall behind, but in the end everything will be A-OK because I'm working towards vacation. I just have to remember that!
In preperation for my trip, I've been thinking a lot about shoes. Mainly because I live in Florida, where cold is the 50's F for us. So I had to buy some cute shoes that would work for walking around in japan. Thing was I already had a pair of boots that I loved, but I've had them for years, and thev've been the base of many a pair of cosplay shoes. They'd definitely seen much better days.
So i decided it would be fun to try and repurpose them, and these are my end results! They went over really well with my friends
It was all done with leather paint, moge podge, hot glue, and a little but of sewing when it came to the fur and the charms.
First I washed them off gently with water and let it dry. I wanted to make sure there was nothing caked up on them before I painted them. After that I painted them with leather paint. It took five or six coats because of how dark the original leather was. The patches where the original leather was pealing took a few extra layers too to even out the texture.
Next came making the cuffs. Now I splurged and got some pretty nice fur from Joanns to make these. I measured them out so that I could slip them on and off over the boots. I only used one seem to keep the tops and bottoms even. I used hot glue to 'hem' the back. The chains were hand sewn in, and the charms were attached using extra links. It took a day to do, but I was super happy with the results! Cant wait to wear them in Harajuku~
A few weeks ago they opened up this new ice cream shop near my house called LQ Ice, and the other day my brother and I decided to try it out. It's one of those places that has the big cold plate, and they mix milk and fresh fruit together to make the ice cream fresh for you.
The inside was super cute and really sleek. I loved the bar-stool idea so you can watch them make your ice cream. It's really nice for kids. On top of the ice cream they also have a variety of fun waffle options. My brother and I decided to split a taiyaki ice cream, since that's one thing we both really love. Fish shaped waffles
We got chocolate ice cream made with almond milk, topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and almond slivers. It was a really good choice, though next time we both agreed we want to try whole milk instead.
My Birthday was Jan 24th~ I went to Orlando to meet all of my central Florida friends. It was so much fun! I really had a blast! I met up with a ton of people and went to Korean Barbaque at Izziban in Orlando. They have an all you can eat option, which was totally worth it. They also had a kimchi bar which I enjoyed just a little too much. The little side dishes are my absolute favorite part about Korean
I had so much fun with my friends ~~

| I can't be mad at them for taking stupid pictures of me while I wasn't looking because they paid for my dinner. Thank you Sarah and Shane! |
After dinner we went over to Jem's house and played this really stupid game called picture telephone where you wrote down a phrase, and then passed it over, and the next person drew that phrase, and then the next person guessed the phrase based on the drawing. We did like four rounds of it. Needless to say Shark idols and Homo Erotic cook books were a thing.
The next morning we were awoken not by an alarm, but by Abby rolling off the couch and shouting "Santa came guys we're going to Universal!" Jem was sweet enough to take four of us to universal for my Birthday! It was the first time I'd ever been to Diagon Ally. I had such a blast getting to go with Abby, Jem, Catie and Dori
